The Regional Secretary for Parliamentary Affairs and Communities, Paulo Estêvão, recalled today that it was under the PSD/CDS-PP/PPM Coalition Government that the maximum deadline for responses to parliamentary requests from parties with parliamentary representation was reduced from 60 to 30 days.

"We halved the maximum response time to 30 days. The Socialist Party has always refused to do this and thwarted several proposals aimed at this reduction during its governance," he recalled.

With the coalition, Paulo Estêvão noted, "all requests are answered," unlike in the socialist past, when dozens of requests from various parties remained unanswered.

"Now, the average response time is less than the 30 days legally stipulated by the coalition, whereas previously, with a legal deadline of 60 days, delays and failure to respond to requests were recurrent," highlighted the Regional Secretary.

"This Government does not hide information, it strives for transparency and responds to all parliamentary requests, unlike in the past," stated Paulo Estêvão.
