Contract for drafting project to renovate Lajes Civil Airport roof signed - Communication

The Vice-Presidency of the Regional Government, through the Lajes Civil Aiport, has recently signed a contract with Arquiangra - Arquitetura e Engenharia, Lda, for the provision of services with a view to drafting the architectural and specialties project of the works contract for the renovation of the roof of the Lajes Civil Aiport.

The project also aims to implement height safety systems in the main hall of the airport infrastructure and the creation of new access points to the departure area.

Following the public procurement procedure by direct award, the project in question has an estimated cost of 24,390 Euros, plus VAT at the legal rate in force, with a completion period of 136 days.

According to the Vice-President of the Government, Artur Lima, this project aims to renovate the Lajes Civil Airport roof and adjacent canopies, as they evidence high levels of corrosion.

Simultaneously, with this intervention, the spaces susceptible to bird landing will be eliminated, making the external space of the departure area more accessible and harmonious for its users.

According to Artur Lima, giving the terminal a new image, which will be more pleasing to local passengers and visitors, is of paramount importance for the development of the Autonomous Region of the Azores, particularly the island of Terceira.
