Vice-Presidência do Governo Regional

The Vice-Presidency of the Regional Government of the Azores, through the Regional Directorate for Housing, launched public tenders for the renovation works of five properties on the island of Graciosa and the renovation works of nine houses in the municipality of Povoação, São Miguel Island.

The public tender for Graciosa was published in the Official Journal of the Autonomous Region of the Azores, under notice no. 100/2023 of March 14, 2023, representing an overall investment of 261 thousand Euros. It has a completion period of 210 days.

In turn, the contract for the renovation works in Povoação, published in the Official Journal of the Autonomous Region of the Azores under notice no. 101/2023 of March 14, 2023, has a base price of 211,000 Euros and a completion period of 210 days.

A public tender was also launched for the revision of the construction projects under the management of the Regional Directorate for Housing. This procedure was registered in the Official Journal of the Autonomous Region of the Azores under Notice no. 102/2023 of March 14, 2023.

This public tender, divided into lots, consists of the revision of the construction projects concerning four works contracts: the São Pedro neighbourhood in Maia, municipality of Ribeira Grande; the Achadinha neighbourhood, municipality of Nordeste; the Urzelina neighbourhood, municipality of Urzelina; and the infrastructures of the Candeias neighbourhood in Fenais da Luz, municipality of Ponta Delgada, which will include the construction of 55 new houses and the refurbishment works of 25 houses located in the parishes of São Roque and Covoada, municipality of Ponta Delgada.

These investments will be financed by component C02 - i04 - RAA - Improve Housing Conditions of the Housing Stock of the Autonomous Region under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP).

According to the Vice-President of the Government, Artur Lima, the ongoing investments demonstrate that the RRP, as far as housing is concerned, is being implemented at a good pace, despite the existing constraints in the construction sector.

According to the goals set by the XIII Regional Government of the Azores in its programme, Artur Lima considers that the completion of these works, and others to be launched soon, will contribute to an increase in the public housing supply, which is essential to meet the demand from Azorean families.
