João Crispim Ponte was born on January 2, 1983.
I - Academic qualifications:
He holds a degree in Management, a Master's Degree in Environment, Health and Safety, a Postgraduate degree in Web Technologies and a Ph. D. in Economic and Business Sciences, with a specialisation in Management, from the University of the Azores. He holds a postgraduate degree in Branding from IADE - Faculty of Design, Technology and Communication (European University).
II - Professional experience:
He was a Management Consultant at the company Fundo de Maneio - Consultoria, Recursos Humanos e Investimentos, Lda. from September 2014 to April 2020. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the company Cereal Games, S.A., of which he is co-founder, a winning project of the Regional Entrepreneurship Competition in 2014.
He was Executive Coordinator of the Entrepreneurship Centre of the University of the Azores between August 2014 and December 2018. He held the position of Asset and Logistics Manager at Galp Açores - Distribuição e Comercialização de Combustíveis e Lubrificantes, S.A., where he began his career as a trainee.
He was a Visiting Lecturer at the Department of Economics and Management of the University of the Azores, where he taught, between 2009 and 2012, the courses of Entrepreneurship, Corporate Finance and Project Evaluation. He was also a trainer at the Tourism and Hospitality School, having taught courses in the areas of entrepreneurship and new businesses.
He has co-authored several books and scientific articles in the areas of tourism and business management. His professional and research activity has been related to entrepreneurship, strategic planning, marketing, experience economy, innovation and tourism.
He has held the position of Senior Technical Expert in the Cabinet of the Regional Secretary for Transport, Tourism and Energy from May 1, 2021, to the present date.
