He is a nurse, having worked in the areas of community nursing throughout his professional activity. He holds a postgraduate degree in Occupation Health Nursing with additional skills recognised by the Portuguese Nursing Association.
Born on the island of Graciosa, he moved to Ponta Delgada, São Miguel Island, to pursue higher education studies, having lived on that island since then.
Throughout his training years, he has been involved in student associations and civic participation movements.
He holds a postgraduate degree in Occupational Health Nursing from the Health School of the Portuguese Red Cross - Lisbon and a degree in Nursing from the Ponta Delgada Nursing School - University of the Azores (currently the Health School of the University of the Azores).
Since November 25, 2020, he has served as adviser to the Cabinet of the President of the Regional Government of the Azores.
