Sandra Cristina Cordeiro Alemão holds a Law Degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.
She worked at the Regional Inspectorate of Fisheries from August 14, 2000 to February 28, 2003, and provided legal support to the Cabinet of the Regional Secretary headquartered on the island of São Miguel;
From August 14, 2000 to July 2001, she was part of the Installing Committee of the Regional Inspectorate of Fisheries.
She was part of the Secretariat of the Advisory Council for the Regional Inspectorate of Fisheries, having drawn up its operating rules;
She worked at the Cabinet of the President of the Regional Government from March 1, 2003 to September 30, 2008.
From September 17, 2004 to November 3, 2004, she worked under an administrative contract as a senior technician trainee at the Technical Office of the Presidency of the Regional Government, under the administration of the Cabinet of the President of the Regional Government, where she carried out legal advice duties. She was released from her internship duties on November 4, 2004, the date when she joined the permanent staff;
From October 1, 2008, to February 28, 2009, she worked at the Ponta Delgada Health Centre under the direct supervision of the Administration Board;
She took part in the implementation process of the installation of the Regional Directorate for Energy, pursuant to the approval of the Organisational Structure of the X Regional Government of the Azores under the Regional Implementing Decree no. 25/2008/A of December 31;
From March 2, 2009, following her transfer from the Ponta Delgada Health Centre, she began to carry out duties at the Regional Directorate for Energy, but was only assigned the position of temporary intern on August 1, 2010, continuing to collaborate, whenever requested, with the Ponta Delgada Health Centre in specific issues;
From August 1, 2013 until the date when the Health Centres became the São Miguel Island Health Unit (USISM), she carried out duties under the direct supervision of the Administration Board;
Since September 2014, she has been a member of the Commission for the Dissuasion of Substance Abuse of the Eastern Islands Group, having been appointed President of the Commission on November 21, 2014 to date and reappointed four times;
She also carries out duties at the São Miguel Island Health Unit (USISM) under the terms of the Regional Implementing Decree 13/2013/A of November 22, which regulates the operation of the commissions for the dissuasion of substance provided for in the Regional Legislative Decree no. 7/2001/A of April 27;
This commission has administrative powers under the terms of the implementation of administrative offences under the Law no.30/2000 of November 29 and operates according to the provisions of Decree-Law no.130-A/2001 of April 23 on the consumption, acquisition and possession of drugs and psychotropic substances;
It also operates in conjunction with SICAD - Intervention Service on Addictive Behaviours and Dependencies of the Ministry of Health.
She attended the course of the Bar Association of the Azores District Council, having completed her law internship in February 2003 with aggregation to the Bar Association.
