Watercolour Initiation Workshop at Angra Library from Tuesday
Secretaria Regional da Cultura, da Ciência e Transição Digital
The Regional Secretariat for Culture, Science and Digital Transition, through the Regional Directorate for Culture and the Angra do Heroísmo Library, promotes a Watercolour Initiation Workshop to be conducted by Manuel Martins from this Tuesday to April 7, on Tuesdays and Fridays, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
This 12-hour workshop aims to provide a theoretical and practical approach to the materials and colours most commonly used in watercolours, with emphasis on the colour mixtures necessary to achieve precision in the shape and volume of the painted object.
Watercolour is a painting technique that requires subtlety and care in its execution, as it involves the use of water and transparencies that render each stroke visible.
Registrations are limited and can be made by telephone 295 401 000 or at the email: [email protected]; there is a registration fee of 35 Euros.
Manuel Martins was a co-founder of the Degrau Art Gallery in 1973. He took engraving courses at the Angra do Heroísmo Museum, having worked at the Lajes Air Base as an illustrator and graphic designer.
He has exhibited his paintings since 1993, taking part in numerous exhibitions: Ramo Grande Auditorium in 2013; the solo exhibition "Da Materialidade do Papel" at the Dacosta Room at the Angra do Heroísmo Museum and "Intuitivo" at the Gallery of the Academy of Youth and Arts in Praia da Vitória in 2016; exhibition "Tramas" at the Angra do Heroísmo Library in 2017; and the solo watercolour exhibition "Em Passeio..." at the same Library in 2022.
