Regarding the accounts of the Azores Island Health Units (USI) and regional hospitals, the Regional Government clarifies:

The USI went from losses in 2023 to positive net results in 2024, figures that are all the more relevant when, at the same time, priority was given to settling the careers of health professionals, where more than 13 million Euros were invested compared to the same period last year.

Several situations that stand out include the Terceira Island Health Unit, which improved its financial status from a loss of 2.7 million Euros to a profit of 4.3 million Euros. The Flores unit also saw significant improvement, going from losses of 224 thousand Euros to a net profit of 2.7 million Euros. Additionally, the Pico Island Health Unit achieved a favourable result of 1.7 million Euros in 2024.

The table showing the net results of the USI at the end of 2023 and 2024, in Euros, is attached to this clarification.

In 2023, HSEIT reported a loss of 9.4 million Euros, which improved to a loss of 2.6 million Euros in 2024. In Ponta Delgada, HDES experienced a loss of 19.2 million Euros in 2023, while the loss decreased to 15.8 million Euros in 2024.
