The Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and Food informs that the selection procedure for the position of President of the Board of the Azores Vine and Wine Institute (IVVA) has been completed.

Cláudio José Gomes Lopes was selected and will be appointed with the other members of the Institute's Board, following a joint order to be issued by the President of the Regional Government and the Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Food, António Ventura.

Cláudio Lopes was until now the head of the Pico Agrarian Development Service.

For António Ventura, the IVVA represents a "structuring initiative for defining, planning and guiding viticulture" in the Region.

"This represents the creation of a body that congregates, coordinates and regulates all policies concerning oenology in the Azores," he stressed.
