The President of the Regional Government, José Manuel Bolieiro, welcomed the Mexican Ambassador to Portugal, Bruno Figueroa, at the Sant'Ana Palace today.

The head of the Azorean Government noted the importance of strengthening relations between the Azores and Mexico, stressing the potential for new economic and cultural opportunities beneficial to both parties.

"This is an opportunity to improve relations and maximise future opportunities for the benefit of the Azores. Our economy has shown credibility and stability, which allows us to attract new investments and strengthen ties with different communities," stated José Manuel Bolieiro.

The President of the Regional Government also mentioned the contribution of Mexican immigrants living in the Azores, recognising their role in boosting the local economy.

"We want our peoples to be properly integrated and legal so that they can contribute with their work and entrepreneurship to the prosperity of the countries welcoming them, just as the Azoreans have done throughout history," he added.

The Mexican Ambassador to Portugal, Bruno Figueroa, thanked the President for the warm welcome and noted the interest in strengthening links between both territories.

"The Azores is a region with a unique identity and great economic potential. I thank the Government of the Azores for its hospitality and openness to new partnerships that can benefit the Azoreans and the Mexican community that has settled here," stated the diplomat.

José Manuel Bolieiro concluded by pointing out that the Azores are experiencing a moment of strong economic dynamics. The Regional Government will continue to invest in attracting investments that contribute to the archipelago's growth and development.
