Works contract to expand Graciosa Island Health Centre awarded

The Regional Government, through the Regional Secretariat for Tourism, Mobility and Infrastructures and the Regional Secretariat for Health and Social Solidarity, has just awarded the works contract for the expansion of the Graciosa Island Health Centre building.
After an international public tender, the works contract was awarded to the company Vila Jardim - Construção e Reparação de Edifícios Lda. for 448,884.71 Euros (VAT included) and should be completed in 2025.
The Graciosa Island Health Centre is located on a land plot with a total area of 11,900 m2, facing Regional Road no. 3.
The intervention includes the installation of CT scanning equipment and the respective ancillary equipment, which will increase the space by 88.62 m2.
The building will be expanded westwards along the central east/west development, covering an area of 6.33 linear metres. The overall implantation area will increase from 1682.00 m² to 1770.62 m².
According to the tender specifications, the CT service will comprise a covered entrance, reception area and waiting room, toilet facilities for the disabled, an office with admission desk and work desk, access to the existing building, a recovery preparation room, two changing rooms, a technical area and an examination area.
The gross implantation area of the CT service is around 147.50 square metres. The building's structure is made of reinforced concrete with a metal roof.
The area to be expanded will have a reception area and waiting room, toilet facilities, an admission room and checkpoint, a preparation/recovery room, two changing rooms, a CT scan room for examinations and a CT scan room in the technical area.
The project was developed by the Regional Secretariat for Health and Social Security and launched by the Regional Secretariat for Tourism, Mobility and Infrastructures, through the Regional Directorate for Public Works.
