Regional Government opens tenders for construction of more than 150 new houses

Tenders are now open for the construction of 122 new houses and the refurbishment of two houses on the islands of São Miguel, Terceira and São Jorge, in addition to the construction of infrastructures for 33 new houses to be built in Ponta Delgada and Vila Franca do Campo.
Overall, 155 new houses will be built to boost the housing supply on these three islands.
This is an investment of more than 22 million Euros under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), corresponding to more than a third of the total planned investment, explained the Regional Secretary for Youth, Housing and Employment.
"The procedures have been launched and our expectation, as well as that of the Azoreans, is that these works can progress as quickly as possible, whilst respecting all tender stages. In this case, this is the stage at which those interested in carrying out the various interventions are required to submit their applications," said Maria João Carreiro.
According to the government official, the Regional Government "is 200% committed to implementing the RRP for Housing."
A public tender has been launched for the construction of 52 appartments in the Detráz-os-Mosteiros Housing Development on the island of São Miguel, municipality of Ribeira Grande, with a base price of 6.7 million Euros and a completion period of 420 days.
Also for Ribeira Grande, there is a tender for the construction of 12 houses in the São Pedro Neighbourhood, parish of Maia, with a base price of 2.5 million Euros and a completion period of 450 days, in addition to the works contract for the full refurbishment of two houses with a base price of 400 thousand Euros and a completion period of 240 days.
In the municipality of Nordeste, there is a public tender for the construction of 15 new houses in the Achadinha Housing Development, with a maximum investment of 2.5 million Euros and a completion period of 450 days.
As for the island of Terceira, the public tender is open for the inst of infrastructures, the construction of 39 houses and demolition work for the 3rd phase of the urban and housing conversion of the Nossa Senhora de Fátima neighbourhood in Santa Cruz, Praia da Vitória.
This investment will be the culmination of a long conversion process and has been long awaited by the families living in the Nossa Senhora de Fátima neighbourhood. It has a base price of 7.7 million Euros and a completion period of 450 days.
For the island of São Jorge, a public tender has been launched for the construction of four single-family houses in the Casteletes Housing Development, parish of Urzelina, with an estimated investment of 810 thousand Euros and a completion period of 450 days.
With regard to the construction of infrastructures, a public tender is underway for the works contract in the Galega Housing Development in the parish of Ribeira das Tainhas, Vila Franca do Campo, with a base price of 585 thousand Euros and a completion period of 180 days.
The public tender for the construction of the Candeias Housing Development in the parish of Fenais da Luz, Ponta Delgada, is also underway, with a base price of 935 thousand Euros and a completion period of 240 days.
