The President of the Regional Government, José Manuel Bolieiro, visited today the new facilities of the Santo Antão Agricultural Cooperative, which opened on April 14 this year.
This new infrastructure represents a significant milestone for local agriculture and reflects the Region's commitment to sustainable and modern agricultural development.
During the visit, José Manuel Bolieiro stressed the importance of the Santo Antão Agricultural Cooperative for the local economy and praised the work carried out by the São Miguel Agricultural Association.
"This is a magnificent example of our proven good management. We have towards sustainability, defending our productive economy and its competitiveness. They have helped to ensure the excellence of our final product in agriculture," José Manuel Bolieiro said, speaking about the cooperative's managers.
The project, corresponding to an overall investment of 3.5 million Euros, covers an area of approximately 5,000 square metres. The new facilities include two warehouses for the sale of feed and fertilisers, an accounting office area and an agricultural shop, providing comprehensive and efficient support for local farmers.
"This investment guarantees excellent conditions for the service provided by the cooperative to its members, farming and agriculture in general," he continued.
He added: "The factors of production are now more accessible to our agricultural producers and their location becomes central to the territory of the island of São Miguel."
With this investment, the Santo Antão Agricultural Cooperative will be better equipped to meet the needs of its members, promoting innovation and efficiency in agricultural production.
The President of the Regional Government is highlighting the Government's continued support for agricultural development and praising the work of the Santo Antão Agricultural Cooperative during this visit.
