José Manuel Bolieiro congratulates António Costa on his appointment as President of the European Council - Communication

The President of the Government of the Azores, José Manuel Bolieiro, addressed today a message to former Prime Minister, António Costa, congratulating him on his election as President of the European Council.

José Manuel Bolieiro noted the major challenge that António Costa will face within the European political framework, highlighting his experience and wishing him every success in his future mission.

António Costa was appointed President of the European Council following a meeting in Brussels on Thursday between the heads of State and Government of the European Union. He will take office in December and will succeed Belgian-born Charles Michel.
