The Regional Secretariat for Tourism, Mobility and Infrastructures informs that flight connections to the island of Corvo have been restored to normal, following recent operational constraints that have led to the cancellation of some flights.

The bad weather conditions of the last few days - which have become frequent and have had a wide impact in the Azores - have severely affected the aeronautical safety of the operation, limiting the number of flights operated.

At the same time, the unavailability of SATA Air Açores' two Dash Q-200 aircraft, one due to maintenance work and the other due to a breakdown, made it impossible to carry out normal operations and flights to several islands of the archipelago.

The Regional Government stresses that every effort has been made to resume normal operations and guarantee adequate mobility for people and goods on all the islands of the Azores.

Mobility is, in fact, a strategic pillar for the Regional Government, as evidenced by the creation of the Azores Fare and the record number of additional flights operated under the Public Service Obligation (PSO) contract for inter-island passenger air transport in recent years.
