International public tender for Tecnopolo-Martec works in Horta published - Communication

Following the Government Council Resolution, the opening notice of the public tender for the "MARTEC Technopole - RRP Works Contract" was published today in the Official Journal of the Autonomous Region of the Azores and advertised in the Official Journal of the European Union. With a base price of 13.9 million Euros, plus VAT at the legal rate in force, the works have a completion period up to December 31, 2024. The funding will be granted under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).

The deadline for submission of proposals, through the AcinGov electronic platform, is running for a period of 30 consecutive days from the date on which the notices were sent for publication, which was yesterday.

Tecnopolo - MARTEC is a complex organised into three groups. It comprises a Blue Incubator (6,564.59 m² gross building area), an Aquaculture Centre (2,455.05 m² gross building area) and a laboratory area for the integration of the Azores Marine Park management team (170.2 3m²  gross building area).

The Blue Incubator encompasses a business component with the aim of promoting and supporting the development of activities and the organisation of events related to economic activities of regional interest linked to the economy of the sea.

The Azores Aquaculture Centre will have suitable facilities for the exploration of aquaculture species in laboratory/experimental spaces, so as to foster environmentally sustainable and innovative aquaculture as well as to safeguard the protection of aquatic biodiversity.

The Azores Marine Park, through the construction of a wet and dry laboratory, will be able to monitor the marine environment and the activities carried out there, within the reach of its competences. This will be achieved using remote sensing techniques and focusing on marine protected areas.
