Last 24 hours:

554 new positive cases of covid-19 were diagnosed, with 259 on the island of São Miguel, 163 on the island of Terceira, 40 on the island of Pico, 35 on the island of Faial, 25 on the island of São Jorge, 13 on the island of Flores, 12 on the island of Graciosa, four on the island of Corvo and three on the island of Santa Maria, following 2,575 tests carried out. 

Municipalities:  

São Miguel Island - 162 in Ponta Delgada, 46 in Ribeira Grande, 35 in Lagoa, 11 in Vila Franca do Campo, three in Povoação and two in Nordeste.  

Terceira Island - 85 in Angra do Heroísmo and 72 in Praia da Vitória.  

Pico Island - 18 in Madalena, 15 in Lajes and seven in São Roque.  

Faial Island - 35 in Horta.

São Jorge Island – 19 in Velas and six in Calheta. 

Flores Island - seven in Santa Cruz and six in Lajes. 

Graciosa Island - 12 in Santa Cruz.

Corvo Island - four new positive cases.

Santa Maria Island - three in Vila Porto. 

Recoveries: 

A total of 496 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours.

Deaths: 

Two deaths were registered at the Divino Espírito Santo Hospital on the island of São Miguel in the last 24 hours: an 83-year-old woman, a resident of Arrifes in Ponta Delgada, and a 70-year-old man, a resident of Ribeira Seca in Ribeira Grande. Both were vaccinated with a booster dose but had multiple comorbidities.

Hospitalisations: 

As of today, there are 24 patients hospitalised, 13 of them at the Divino Espírito Santo Hospital on the island of São Miguel (one in intensive care), six at the Horta Hospital on the island of Faial and five at the Santo Espírito Hospital of Terceira Island. 

Current situation:

The archipelago currently registers 3,998 active positive cases: 2,518 on the island of São Miguel, 660 on the island of Terceira, 274 on the island of Pico, 222 on the island of Faial, 126 on the island of Graciosa, 110 on the island of São Jorge, 58 on the island of Flores, 15 on the island of Corvo and 15 on the island of Santa Maria. 

Vaccination:    

From December 31, 2020, to March 2, 2022, 210,693 people in the Azores already have complete primary vaccination (89.1%) and 117,415 people have already received the booster dose (49.7%).

As of today, 6,608 children had been inoculated with the first dose of the vaccine, corresponding to 38.8% of a universe of 17,033 children between the ages of 5 and 11.
