Last 24 hours:   

245 new positive cases of covid-19 were diagnosed, with 115 on the island of São Miguel, 69 on the island of Terceira, 34 on the island of Graciosa, 14 on the island of Pico, eight on the island of São Jorge, four on the island of Faial and one on the island of Flores, following 988 tests carried out.   

Municipalities: 

On the island of Sao Miguel, 73 new positive cases were registered in Ponta Delgada, 19 in Ribeira Grande, 17 in Lagoa, five in Vila Franca do Campo and one in Nordeste. 

On the island of Terceira, 33 new cases were registered in Angra do Heroísmo and 36 in Praia da Vitória.  

On the island of Graciosa, 34 new positive cases were registered in Santa Cruz. 

On the island of Pico, eight new cases were registered in Lajes, four in Madalena and two in São Roque.   

On the island of São Jorge, four new positive cases were registered in Velas and four in Calheta. 

On the island of Faial, four new positive cases were registered in Horta.  

On the island of Flores, a new positive case was registered in Lajes. 

Hospitalisations:   

As of today, there are 41 patients hospitalised, 25 of them at the Divino Espírito Santo Hospital on the island of São Miguel (two in intensive care), 12 at the Santo Espírito Hospital of Terceira Island (two in intensive care) and four at the Horta Hospital (one in intensive care).  

Recoveries:    

A total of 1,973 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours. 

Death: 

In the last 24 hours, an 80-year-old woman died at the Divino Espírito Santo Hospital in Ponta Delgada. She was a resident of Cabouco, municipality of Lagoa, and had been hospitalised since February 7. She had received primary vaccination. 

Current situation:  

The archipelago currently registers 8,802 active positive cases: 7,026 on the island of São Miguel, 1,091 on the island of Terceira, 183 on the island of Faial, 174 on the island of Graciosa, 151 on the island of Pico, 131 on the island of São Jorge, 28 on the island of Santa Maria and 18 on the island of Flores. 

Vaccination:  

From December 31, 2020, to February 19, 2022, 209,777 people in the Azores already have complete primary vaccination (88.7%) and 111,786 people have already received the booster dose (47.3%).  

As of today, 6,402 children had been inoculated with the first dose of the vaccine, corresponding to 37.6% of a universe of 17,033 children between the ages of 5 and 11.
