The office of the Regional Under Secretary for the Presidency of the Azores Government promotes on Wednesday, January 12, the 7th session of the forum "The Future of the Azores in Europe," which will be dedicated to the theme "Environment and Climate Change - Azores."

This is a public event that takes place virtually, between 10.30 am and 12.30 pm, through the Webex Platform. It includes an open space for debate so that all participants may present their ideas and proposals that may improve public policies in these areas at a European level.

For the Regional Under Secretary of the Presidency, Pedro de Faria e Castro, "the European Union has been at the forefront of environmental protection and the fight against climate change," stressing that "this is also a priority for the Azorean Government."

The session, co-organised with the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Change, will have as guest speaker Ana Cristina Rodrigues, Regional Director for the Environment and Climate Change, and will be moderated by Diogo Caetano, a member of Amigos dos Açores Ecological Association.

The government official noted that this is "an opportunity to hear the Azoreans' ideas and agree on a position towards the defence of an increasingly greener Region and Europe."

Those interested in participating in this event should register for session 7 via the Forum's website on the Government Portal, which can be found at: https://portal.azores.gov.pt/web/srp/forum-acores-cofoe.

The Forum "The Future of the Azores in Europe" takes place in the context of the Azores' participation in the Conference on the Future of Europe (COFOE). This event aims to promote a series of debates and discussions that will enable people across Europe to share ideas that can help shape a common future.
