Autonomous Region of the Azores highlighted at Portugal Day 2026 celebrations in Berlin

At the invitation of the Portuguese Ambassador to Berlin, Madalena Fischer, the Autonomous Region of the Azores, represented by the Vice-President of the Regional Government, Artur Lima, will have a prominent place in the celebrations of Portugal, Camões, and Portuguese Communities Day on June 10 in Germany.

“The Autonomous Region of the Azores is delighted to be taking part in these celebrations. We have much to contribute and share on June 10 in Berlin,” emphasised the Vice-President of the Regional Government.
“The Portugal Day celebrations in Berlin are a unique opportunity to promote the Region abroad, showcasing its economic, cultural, tourist and gastronomic aspects,” he added.
The celebration programme includes activities for industry professionals and partners, sessions dedicated to promoting regional products, and live musical performances featuring the "Viola da Terra" (traditional Azorean guitar), led by Tiago Toste.
“This is another opportunity to raise the profile of the Azores in Europe, particularly amongst a highly interested audience. We are continuing to promote the Azores beyond our borders, seeking new economic opportunities in a strategic market,” emphasised Artur Lima.
The celebrations of Portugal, Camões, and Portuguese Communities Day in Berlin will take place on June 10 at the Portuguese Embassy in Berlin, Germany. They will be attended by the Secretary of State for European Affairs, Inês Domingos.
