Applications for the SOLENERGE programme are now open for the installation of solar photovoltaic systems for self-consumption from today until February 28. This announcement reopens the submission of new incentive applications under this important tool, which aims to support the energy transition in the Azores.

Created under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP), SOLENERGE has an overall budget of €60 million, targeting 38.2 MW of installed capacity in the Autonomous Region of the Azores.

As of today, the programme has an estimated approved incentive amounting to €45 million. As such,  reopening applications is necessary to ensure compliance with the targets set and agreed with the European Commission.

The roles of beneficiaries and installers in ensuring the speed and efficiency of the program's implementation are emphasised, aiming to achieve the overall target of 38.2 MW. This will strengthen SOLENERGE as an essential tool for promoting renewable energy and reducing the region's energy dependence.

SOLENERGE is part of Investment C14-i03-RAA – Energy Transition in the Azores, as part of the RRP, and covers 100% of eligible expenses for the purchase and installation of photovoltaic systems, up to a limit of €1,500 per kilowatt of installed capacity. The programme is aimed at citizens and collective entities, except the regional and central administrations.

Applications must be submitted at https://solenerge.azores.gov.pt.
