The Regional Government of the Azores announces that the President of the Board of Directors of SATA Holding, Rui Coutinho, has submitted his resignation, effective from January 1, 2026, stating professional reasons.
The Regional Government of the Azores has accepted this resignation, acknowledging the work carried out during his tenure and thanking him for his contribution to the achievement of the established goals and strengthening the stability of the SATA Group in the current context of compliance with the Restructuring Plan.
Following this decision, and to ensure the necessary continuity and stability of ongoing processes, the Regional Government of the Azores will appoint Tiago Santos, current Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the SATA Group, to the position of President of the Board of Directors of SATA Holding.
The appointment of Tiago Santos, as a member of the current executive body and with in-depth knowledge of the Group's financial, operational and strategic mechanisms, intends to ensure the rigorous pursuit of the measures set out in the Restructuring Plan, namely the divestment of Azores Airlines and Handling, as well as the consolidation of the progress already achieved in the recovery process of the SATA Group companies.
The Regional Government of the Azores expresses its gratitude to the outgoing President for his services and wishes the new President every success in his new role, reiterating confidence in the continuity of the structural work that has been carried out.
