Press release
Secretaria Regional do Turismo, Mobilidade e Infraestruturas
The Regional Secretariat for Tourism, Mobility, and Infrastructures reported that this afternoon, the Regional Directorate for Public Works was notified of a landslide on the access road to Ferraria, with a request for assistance in clearing the road.
Upon learning of the incident, the Regional Directorate for Public Works immediately activated support and intervention measures to assess the situation, carry out the necessary clearance work and ensure optimal traffic conditions, allowing vehicles stuck in the car park to exit the area.
Various types of machinery were deployed, including a lorry, a backhoe and an excavator, to ensure the removal of rock and soil debris, the creation of a parallel road for traffic, and the repositioning of Jersey barriers to contain any debris that may fall from the affected area.
Given the current instability of the embankment and the conditions identified on site, the Regional Secretariat for Tourism, Mobility and Infrastructures recommends avoiding travel and staying on the road until the necessary safety conditions have been restored.
