Secretaria Regional da Saúde e Segurança Social

The Regional Secretary for Health and Social Security, Mónica Seidi, chaired today the presentation of the 1st Regional Plan for the Inclusion of Homeless People - PRIPSSA 2025-2030.

The Plan, which was based on a previous technical study, aims to reduce the number of homeless people in the Azores archipelago. It involves "preventive" interventions by the Regional Government and institutions.

"Considering what other plans have been, whether the Regional Plan for Social Inclusion and Citizenship or the programme to fight against dependencies, prevention is the key," Mónica Seidi said, speaking at the event held at the Ponta Delgada Public Library and Regional Archive.

The Plan will mobilise public and private entities. Its strategic axes focus on intervention, risk prevention and resource management, housing and accommodation, monitoring and rehabilitation, social inclusion and knowledge, and communication and social participation.

The document will be made public online to collect contributions and suggestions. It is expected that the final version will be completed by September and then submitted to the Council of the Government.
