The Regional Government will, again open, a new phase of applications for tailor-made sectoral training initiatives under the QUALIFICA.IN measure, through which vocational schools, as promoting organisations, are awarded financial support up to a maximum of 24 thousand Euros for each training course for employed and unemployed people.

Applications from vocational schools for this measure created under the Recovery and Resilience Plan for the Region are open until April 30. They must be submitted using the electronic form available on the CERTIFICAR platform - certificar.azores.gov.pt, informs the Regional Secretariat for Youth, Housing and Employment.

Each training course must be aimed at employed and/or unemployed people aged 18 or over, with the unemployed receiving a training grant of up to the maximum monthly value of the Social Support Index (IAS).

Each training course must last up to 600 hours and be structured in a training model tailored to the needs of companies or modular training (National Qualifications Catalogue) in an in-person or distance format (e-learning and b-learning).

In addition, each training course may include training hours in a real work context.

The Regional Secretary for Youth, Housing and Employment explained that the QUALIFICA.IN measure is an "opportunity for companies, employers and vocational schools in the Azores to jointly identify training needs in different activity sectors and design training tailored to these current and emerging needs."

"Training is the most important active employment measure," Maria João Carreiro defended, emphasising that "vocational training and retraining are crucial for employed and the unemployed people to build new professional prospects, including in the companies where they are already integrated, and for companies to boost their productivity.

The training actions approved in this phase must begin and end between May 1, 2025, and May 31, 2026, according to the Notice published on the Recuperar Portugal platform.
