Data from the Agency for Development and Cohesion show that, under the Portugal 2030 (PT 2030) programme, the Azores stand out as having the best implementation among territorial programmes, reaching 5.8% implementation, coming ahead of other programmes such as Madeira 2030 (4.3%), Lisbon 2030 (4.1%) and Centro 2030 (2.3%).
"This is good news for the Azores, the Regional Government, Azorean entrepreneurs and Azorean institutions," stated the Regional Secretary for Finance, Duarte Freitas.
The government official spoke on the sidelines of the Regional Government's statutory visit to the island of Pico.
Regarding the Azores 2020 programme, an overall implementation of 101.6% has been achieved to date, with 102.2% in the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and 100.2% in the European Social Fund (ESF), a performance above 100%.
As far as the Recovery and Resilience Programme (PRR) is concerned, the implementation recorded in the Azores, he recalled, is also aligned with the national average, which was praised by the Minister of Cohesion.
With these results, the Azores have established themselves as an example of efficiency in the use of European funds, making a significant contribution to the country's sustainable growth.
