Azorean Government guarantees payment of apportionments to farmers by National Government, through State Budget - Communication

The Azorean Government has guaranteed, through negotiations with the National Government, that the payment of POSEI apportionments to farmers will be secured through State Budget funds from this year onwards.

This involves about 15 million Euros a year that had not been paid to farmers before 2020 and which have been borne by the Regional Budget since then.

The solidarity shown by the National Government allows the reallocation of a 15 million-Euro sum previously allocated for this measure in the Regional Budget to other budget priorities.

It is clear that not only has there been no cut in funding for farmers but it has also been possible to consolidate the budget in other areas of governance such as local government and, in particular, mobility.
