HDES Modular Structure ready to receive Regional Health Service users admitted to CUF Hospital

A visit was made today to the Modular Structure of the Divino Espírito Santo Hospital (HDES) which will receive on Wednesday, February 5, the Regional Health Service users who have been admitted to CUF Açores Hospital.
The departure from CUF Açores Hospital will occur over a single day and will be conducted in a phased and safe manner. It will be organised in collaboration with services, Civil Protection, and the Vacancy Management Team.
The Modular Structure is ready to receive 24% of the overall number of vacancies, i.e. 92 vacancies, including nine in Obstetrics, ten in Neonatology, six in intensive care and seven in long-term care, in addition to the inpatient vacancies. This also includes the delivery room (with one operating room, four induction rooms, one delivery room and four recovery rooms).
Among the new equipment presented today is the Braun Integrated Infusion Therapy System; complete Philips Videolaryngoscopy, Siemens Ultrasound and Drager Pendant solutions; a complete range of Baxter-Hillrom differentiated beds, and MRI, CT and X-ray equipment.
In terms of space, the Modular Structure occupies an area of 1400m2 for Critical and Non-Critical Emergency Services.
The visit was accompanied by the President of the Regional Government, José Manuel Bolieiro, the Minister of Health, Ana Paula Martins, and the Regional Secretary for Health and Social Security, Mónica Seidi.
Speaking during the visit, the Minister of Health stated that the modular structure is "one of the most modern" in Europe and the world. It is one of the most sophisticated in Portugal.
Ana Paula Martins added that this "is the technology of the future" and will set the tone "for the HDES functional programme."
Mónica Seidi, in turn, expressed her great satisfaction at patients' return to the Ponta Delgada Hospital perimeter, praising the presence of many professionals and the doctors‘ and nursing associations.
