The Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and Food, through the Agrarian Development Services, has made the 2025 agricultural training calendar available for all islands.

"Knowledge promotes and consolidates know-how of agricultural practices in various areas. There is a wide range of training provided by the Azores Agrarian Development Services aimed at encouraging the adoption of better agricultural practices, improving the management of existing resources, and boosting productivity and sustainability. When properly applied, training has the power to drive the sector towards a more sustainable and productive future," stressed the Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Food, António Ventura.

He continued: "From Corvo to Santa Maria, all the work carried out by the Region's Agrarian Development Services is to be commended. We must remain committed and continue to support all the initiatives proposed and available to agricultural producers so that they can implement the acquired knowledge and skills in the field."

This vocational training is organised in conjunction with the Azores Agricultural Federation, making it possible to better adapt literacy to the needs of the agro-productive sector.

The Azores Agricultural Development Services will promote 106 training programmes in 2025, covering different agricultural areas, totalling 2,201 hours.

Training courses will be available in the following areas: Application of Plant Protection Products; Introduction to Beekeeping; Integrated Rodent Control; Farm Management Guidance; Organic Production; Pastures; Forage and Sustainable Soil Use; Queen rearing in Beekeeping; Subtropical Fruit Trees; Sustainable Use of Agricultural Soils; Introduction to Horticultural Production; Aromatic and Medicinal Plants; Pruning; Citrus Cultivation; Vine Grafting; Vine Pruning; Coffee Planting and Production and Banana Cultivation, among other activities.
