More than 17,000 Azoreans voted on the projects competing in the sixth edition of the Azores Participatory Budget, a significantly higher number of voters than in previous editions.
Among the 49 ideas put to the vote in this initiative promoted by the Regional Government, through the Public Administration Modernisation and Reform Mission Structure (EMRAP) of the Regional Secretariat for Finance, Planning and Public Administration, 18 were announced as winners. They cover the areas of Education, Youth, Environment, Culture and Sea and Fisheries.
The proposals are divided geographically as follows: four in São Miguel, three in Terceira and Corvo, two in São Jorge, one each in Santa Maria, Graciosa, Pico, Faial and Flores and one at a regional level. The Regional Government will implement all proposals.
