Twenty trainees from Azorean vocational schools participate in 46th National Skills Championship

Twenty trainees from regional vocational schools will participate in the 46th National Skills Championship - Skills Portugal, which kicks off tomorrow, Tuesday, at Europarque in Santa Maria da Feira.
Maria João Carreiro, Regional Secretary for Youth, Housing and Employment, and the Regional Director for Vocational Training and Employment, Renato Medeiros, accompanied the trainees this morning on their departure from João Paulo II Airport in Ponta Delgada to Porto.
On the occasion, the Regional Secretary conveyed her "pride" in the qualification of the Azorean trainees for this national competition, which brings together 400 young people from all over the country, and her "confidence" in the benefits of this participation for the career path of each participant.
"Regardless of the results that may come out of this championship, which I believe may be good, because these young people have already demonstrated their knowledge and skills. Participating in this national competition is, in itself, an enriching experience, as there is a whole preparation before the championship that allows them to deepen their skills," explained Maria João Carreiro.
With a view to the preparation of participants and the purchase of equipment, as well as the participation of teachers as judges in the National Championship, the Regional Government supports the Vocational Schools taking part in the National Championship to the amount of 68 thousand Euros, as published today in the Official Journal, in addition to covering all travel, accommodation and food costs for participants.
20 Azorean trainees are taking part in the largest national education and training event, representing EPROSEC School, MEP - Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Ponta Delgada Vocational School, Praia da Vitória Vocational School, ENTA - Azores School of New Technologies and CQA - Azores Training Centre.
Azorean participants will compete in the areas of Web Technologies, Electricity and Electrical Installations, Mobile Robotics, Confectionary, Culinary, Restaurant and Bar Service, Computer Network Management, Caring - Personal and Community Services, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, Application Development for Mobile Devices, Accounting and Management | CRM.
The competitions will be held between Tuesday and Friday, with 60 occupations in competition.
The winners will be announced at the closing ceremony on Saturday, November 16.
The regional qualification for the National Skills Championship took place at the Regional Skills Championship, which was held in May at the Praia da Vitória Vocational School on the island of Terceira.
