Meeting of Commissions for the Protection of Children and Youth in the Azores brings together more than 200 participants

The 6th Regional Meeting of the Commissions for the Protection of Children and Youth in the Azores will take place on October 22 and 23 at the Teatro Ribeiragrandense in São Miguel.
This annual meeting is organised by the Azores Commissioners' Office for Childhood, an entity under the administration of the Regional Secretariat for Health and Social Security.
More than 200 professionals working with children and youth, covering all levels of intervention in promoting and protecting the rights of children and young people, will join this initiative.
The two-day event is a privileged moment for reflection and debate on raising awareness and ensuring children's rights as well as their socio-educational and health challenges and innovations.
This year's theme is "Let's all respect the rights of the child."
The opening and closing sessions will be chaired, respectively, by the Regional Secretary for Health and Social Security, Mónica Seidi, and the President of the Regional Government of the Azores, José Manuel Bolieiro.
The President and Vice-President of the National Commissions for the Promotion of the Rights and Protection of Children and Youth, Ana Valente and Maria João Fernandes, will also be present.
The conferences will cover topics such as "Childhood and Youth - the Winds of Change," "Referrals to the CPCJ - background, analysis and action," "Equal Opportunities," "Good Practices in the Promotion of Rights" or "Police prevention in the context of 'cyberbullying' in the Autonomous Region of the Azores," among others, within the scope of the main theme.
