The Regional Secretariat for Education, Culture and Sport, through the Regional Directorate for Culture, in collaboration with the Jerónimo Emiliano de Andrade Secondary School is promoting the presentation of the digital project "From Shadow to Carnation - April 25 through the Eyes of Cultural Heritage "on Wednesday, October 3, at the school library at 1:25 pm. The project is aimed at 10th-grade history students, and similar sessions are planned for later dates in other schools of the archipelago.

This initiative includes a mobile phone app and a digital publication available on the Cultura Açores portal. It is a non-formal educational resource and aims to tell the story of the main political events of the 20th century leading up to the April 25 revolution, through a selection of items and documents, not always accessible to the public, which belong to the Cultural Promotion Services (eight museums, one ecomuseum, three libraries and regional archives, and one arts centre).

Stemming from the research carried out by these services and made available on public access platforms (CCM - Collective Catalogue of Museums, Koha and Archeevo), this work is also in line with the theme chosen by ICOM - International Council of Museums for 2024, namely "Museums for Education and Research."

As the Implantation of the Republic is the first significant date in the narrative recounted in "From Shadow to Carnation - April 25 through the Eyes of Cultural Heritage," this was also the date chosen for the presentation of the project.
