This Monday and Tuesday, the President of the Regional Government, José Manuel Bolieiro, consulted parties and social partners in the preparation of the Draft Plan and Budget for 2025.

At the end of the two days of meetings, Bolieiro stressed his willingness to reach a consensus, thus guaranteeing his role as a "benchmark of stability and his ability and willingness to engage in dialogue" with all parties and social partners, always calling for a sense of responsibility on the part of all those involved.

"As part of our Government Programme and Medium-Term Guidelines, we will define priorities and strategies that defend the interests of the Azores and promote the development of the Region," said José Manuel Bolieiro.

This budget process aims to ensure the implementation of the  Programme and the Medium-Term Guidelines of the XIV Regional Government, stressing that “contributions that can be agreed upon will always be welcome."

The President of the Government assured that "this is not the end of the budget process, this is the first step."

Once the Preliminary Proposal has been drawn up, it will be submitted to the Economic and Social Council of the Azores (CESA) and the island councils for appraisal, after which the final proposal will be prepared.

Until the final proposal for the 2025 Plan and Budget is drawn up, the XIV Regional Government remains open to dialogue and willing to receive proposals from parties and social partners, in addition to the considerations and priorities they have outlined in the hearings held with the President of the Government.

José Manuel Bolieiro was accompanied at the hearings by the Regional Secretary for Finance, Planning and Public Administration, Duarte Freitas.
