Azorean Companies and employers in the private sector can apply for the promotion of professional traineeships in a real work context for unemployed people enrolled at regional Training and Employment Centres, through the RECONVERTER PRO measure.

The application period runs from September 1 to December 31, 2024, and must be made via the emprego.azores.gov.pt portal.

"With this measure, companies and employers have the opportunity to prepare unemployed people for the sector in which they work, with a view to hiring them," says Maria João Carreiro, Regional Secretary for Youth, Housing and Employment.

The traineeships last eight months and can be extended for another six months if the unemployed complete 150 hours of certified training in the initial training period.

The companies providing training are reimbursed the same amount as the contributions paid to the Social Security.

The unemployed will receive an allowance amounting to 125% of the Minimum Monthly Wage, in the case of qualifications at or above Level 6 of the National Qualifications Framework (QNQ); 105% of the Minimum Monthly Wage, for qualifications at Levels 4 and 5; and 100% of the Minimum Monthly Wage, in the case of unemployed with qualifications at or below Level 3 of the National Qualifications Framework.

The RECONVERTER PRO programme is promoted by the Regional Secretariat for Youth, Housing and Employment, through the Regional Directorate for Vocational Training and Employment. It also includes a series of benefits for companies and employers promoting traineeships for the unemployed with disabilities regarding the training period, support and the obligation to hire them.
