José Manuel Bolieiro congratulates Azorean MEPs who took office in European Parliament - Communication

The President of the Regional Government, José Manuel Bolieiro, congratulated the Azorean MEPs elected to the European Parliament, Paulo do Nascimento Cabral, André Rodrigues, Ana Martins and Catarina Vieira, who took office today following the June 9 elections.

"I am confident that, while carrying out their duties, they will be strong advocates of our aspirations in the European Union and in this Atlantic projection that we represent," stated José Manuel Bolieiro.

"The presence of MEPs who know the reality of the Azores is fundamental to the defence of our Region's interests in Brussels and Strasbourg," he added.

The President of the Government also reiterated the Government's commitment to collaborate with the new MEPs to ensure that the priorities of the Azores are taken into consideration in the decision-making process of the European Union.

José Manuel Bolieiro also congratulated Roberta Metsola on her reelection as President of the European Parliament, stating that this was "a sign of confidence in her leadership and her ability in such challenging times."
