Presidência do Governo Regional
The President of the Regional Government, José Manuel Bolieiro, met with the Minister of the Presidency, António Leitão Amaro, in Lisbon on Tuesday, expressing his confidence and "well-founded hope" for progress in the various "pending matters" between the State and the Region.
Recognising that a "paradigm shift" has already taken place with the Azores since the new National Government took office, the President of the Government presented António Leitão Amaro with a series of pending matters with the Azores, expressing his intention for a summit between both governments to be held by the end of the year, preferably before the presentation of the 2025 State Budget proposal.
Matters such as Public Service Obligations (PSOs) in air transport, inter-island cables, Recovery and Resilience Plan funds or compensation for the damage caused by Hurricane Lorenzo were discussed between José Manuel Bolieiro and the Minister of the Presidency.
The meeting took place in the Campus XXI building, which has housed various ministries of the XXIV Government of the Portuguese Republic since July 1.
