New tender open for construction of Santo António daycare centre in Ponta Delgada - Communication

A new public tender has been launched for the construction of a daycare centre in Santo António, municipality of Ponta Delgada.

The Intergenerational Development Association - ADI has, once again, launched this tender, coordinated by the Regional Secretariat for Health and Social Security, through the Regional Directorate for Social Solidarity, after the first one was unsuccessful.

Accordingly, the works contract was reviewed and the price was increased by almost 800 thousand Euros to arouse new interest from construction companies.

The tender now has a base price of €1,900,000.00 + VAT, for an overall investment of €3,053,120.00, financed under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), with a completion period of 450 days.

The successful completion of this project will provide another response to children and their families in the municipality of Ponta Delgada. It will increase capacity with another 42 vacancies, continuing to fulfil the Regional Government' commitment to increase the availability of daycare centres, namely through the construction of new buildings. 

"The Regional Government made a commitment and is honouring it. Increasing the capacity to respond to waiting lists, in this specific area, is something that this Government takes seriously, as it addresses people's needs directly and brings significant relief to the daily lives of our families," stressed Mónica Seidi, the Regional Secretary for Health and Social Security.
