José Manuel Bolieiro praises "response capacity and promptness" after HDES fire - Communication

The President of the Regional Government, José Manuel Bolieiro, praised today the "response capacity and promptness" of health professionals, security forces, civil protection agents and public and private health units following the fire that broke out this morning at the Divino Espírito Santo Hospital (HDES) in Ponta Delgada.

"I am very grateful to everyone," noted José Manuel Bolieiro.

This is, he acknowledges, a "dramatic situation" that is causing "disruption" to everyone, including health professionals, patients and their families. However, "everything" is being done to "minimise" this incident and promote a "return to normality."

"I thank and am proud of all the professionals and institutions that have successfully managed to minimise this situation," said the President of the Government.

The Regional Government is monitoring the situation at HDES and has offered words of solidarity and encouragement to those who have been fighting the fire at the hospital since this morning.

At this time, and until the fire is fully extinguished, the Government urges citizens to follow the instructions provided by the hospital on its social networks.
