CreditHab programme exceeds one thousand applications - Communication

Since its inception, the CreditHab programme, an initiative promoted by the Regional Government through the Regional Secretariat for Finance, Planning and Public Administration, has exceeded 1,000 applications this month.

The measure was created to mitigate the rise in interest rates due to the inflation crisis by supporting families with monthly mortgage instalments.

The CreditHab programme consists of an exceptional and temporary line of support for families with permanent home loans, up to a maximum of 250 thousand Euros, who find themselves in a precarious situation in terms of fulfiling their contractual obligations.

With over a thousand applications registered since 2023, CreditHab has proved to be an essential support tool for Azorean families to overcome the current worldwide inflation crisis.

The difference in interest rates on mortgage loans, compared to the historical average of Euribor rates, is expected to continue to be significant in 2024. For this reason, the Regional Government has already decided to extend the support measure until the end of 2024.
