The Regional Secretariat for Education, Culture and Sport, through the Regional Directorate for Sport (DRD), is promoting the "Merit Measure" for the second consecutive year as part of the TOP Club Programme of the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth (IPDJ), in close collaboration with this national body.

The "Merit Measure" aims to reward good practices in the management of sports clubs, recognising and disseminating the daily work of clubs in favour of sports and social development.

Applications for the 2024 edition of the "Merit Measure" are open until April 29 and can be made via the following link: https://clubetop.ipdj.gov.pt/ProgramaClubeTOP/Medida.aspx?MeasurePanel=3.

All the information on the awards, model, rules and deadlines is also available here.

All sports clubs and associations as well as associations promoting sports (APD) clubs promoting the practice of sports that are registered in the National Registry of Sports Federations and Clubs (RNFDC) are eligible to apply for the regional awards of the "Merit Measure" in various categories.

Other entities involved in sports, duly registered, providing sports services that do not fall under the categories above may also apply for this measure.

This Clube Top initiative, which has been extended to the Azores since 2023, follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the DRD and IPDJ, together with the Regional Directorate of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, with the aim of extending Clube Top to the autonomous regions, extending this programme even further nationwide.

This partnership also intends to strengthen relations and establish synergies between the parties to promote the presence and integration of the Azores in national matters so that we can all be better prepared for the current and future challenges the Region and the country face.
