Ana Margarida Filipe, an ACM Club athlete, has won another three world titles and three gold medals for the Azores, this time at the 2024 World & European Indoor Track Championships.
The athlete competed in the triple jump, long jump and 60-metre hurdles categories, winning gold in all of them.
The results show 11.51 metres in the triple jump and set a new national record in the 60-metre hurdles, with 9.84 seconds.
The long jump, in which she achieved a mark of 5.47 metres, is the focus of this athlete and her coach, as this is her main sport in terms of her immediate goal - to secure a call-up to the national team for the Paralympic Games.
Ana Filipe credits these results to the fact that she is in great shape, both physically and mentally, in addition to following the usual recipe of "hard work."
"This is another very special victory, as Ana Filipe is an Azorean athlete. She is one of our High Performance athletes, our 'Guida' as we know her, and she has already led us to extraordinary results as a result of her hard work and that of her coach Ana Paula Costa," said Mónica Seidi, the Regional Secretary for Sport.
She addeed: " It is athletes like 'Guida', like Ana Margarida, who inspire and encourage us to continue, as always, to strongly invest in sport, in all its components."
