Government of the Azores monitors the situation in parishes of Ponta Delgada affected by bad weather

The Regional Government of the Azores has been monitoring the situation of the various parishes in the municipality of Ponta Delgada, this winter, affected by bad weather in a job close to local authorities.

On the ground, the Regional Directorate for Public Works, the Regional Forest Resources Directorate, the Regional Directorate for Spatial Planning and Water Resources, the Agricultural Development Service of São Miguel, IROA, and the Municipal Civil Protection Service, has been working together with Ponta Delgada Municipal Council.

According to information from the municipality, the following parishes were affected by bad weather: Arrifs, Fethers, Candelaria, Ginetes, Monasteries, Seven Cities, Pillar of Brittany, Brittany Aid, Remédios, Santa Bárbara, Saint António and Capelas.

At this stage, the Government of the Azores is defining the start of various interventions, with priority for the parishes of Arrifes and Capelas, for the coming days.

The remaining parishes affected are in the aftermath and are deserving minor interventions in restoring cleaning and safety conditions.
