Following the passage of the Hipolito depression through the archipelago, the Azores Regional Civil Protection and Fire Service (SRPCBA) reports that 21 incidents have been registered since 12 am today (January 11, 2024): 10 in Faial, five in São Miguel, four in Terceira and two in Pico.
The latest incidents reported concern road flooding, home flooding, falling trees, collapsed structures and damage to structures.
Since yesterday, a total of 53 incidents have been reported on six islands, namely São Miguel, Terceira, Graciosa, São Jorge, Pico and Faial.
According to the warning issued by the Portuguese Institute for the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), the SRPCBA recommends that the population continue to adopt self-protection measures.
The SPRCBA continues to monitor the situation, issuing new warnings if necessary.
