Regional Government "reports" to Santa Maria Island Council - Communication

The President of the Regional Government, José Manuel Bolieiro, expressed his satisfaction with the meeting held with the Santa Maria Island Council, where the Government "reported" to the members of the council and was "questioned with enthusiasm" by them.

"The participation of the members of the council was excellent," the President of the Government noted, speaking at the end of the meeting that marked the Government's statutory visit to Santa Maria.

He continued: "The Government reported on the work it has done and was and there was questioned with enthusiasm."

The "dialogue and consensus" with these "development partners" was highlighted by the President of the Government, who acknowledged that there are always "ambitions" on the part of the members of the council. Nevertheless, budget resources are " limited" and have to be distributed in an "equitable manner."

In the afternoon, before the meeting with the Island Council, the works contract for the construction of the Vila do Porto bypass was signed, a project amounting to five million Euros.

José Manuel Bolieiro recalled that this is "another milestone and another goal" achieved as regards the implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) in the Region.

Moreover, the President of the Government visited the site where the works for the refurbishment and adaptation of the "Airport Director's House" are being carried out, with the aim of installing the headquarters of the Portuguese Space Agency - Portugal Space.
