This week, the President of the Regional Government of the Azores, José Manuel Bolieiro, opened this week the nativity scene and Christmas tree at the Sant'Ana Palace with more than 20 children, a special moment of Christmas hope and comfort.
"Children are the best of our hope, the joy of our present and the confidence in our future," he stressed.
The Sant'Ana Palace, which became "more joyful" with the children present, welcomed youngsters from the Fajã de Baixo Social and Parish Centre - Nossa Senhora dos Anjos Residential Shelter for Children and Young People and children attending the Estufinha Kindergarten.
"Children brought joy and a memory that honours us as an institution and myself as President of the Government," said José Manuel Bolieiro, who also offered "hope and health" to all Azoreans living in the archipelago and also in Mainland Portugal, Madeira and the diaspora.
