Subsecretário Regional da Presidência

Applications for attendance of postgraduate courses at the College of Europe in the 2023/2024 academic year are open until January 16, 2024.

Each year, the Regional Government of the Azores awards a scholarship - the "José Medeiros Ferreira" Scholarship - for attendance of a postgraduate course at the College of Europe - Bruges Campus (Belgium) or Natolin Campus (Poland) - which consists of financial support to cover tuition fees, accommodation, meals and a round trip from the student's residence to the country where the course is taking place.

This scholarship, whose application period will be announced in due course, is awarded following the admission of applicants from the Autonomous Region of the Azores to the College of Europe. Accordingly, applicants for this scholarship should have been previously admitted for attendance of a postgraduate course at the College of Europe in the areas of Law, Economics, Interdisciplinary European Studies, Politics and Administration or International Relations and Diplomacy.

Eligible applicants who have been admitted to a postgraduate course at the Colégio da Europa must be aged up to 30 (at the beginning of the course). They are also required to have completed their secondary education in the Region and to have resided in the archipelago of the Azores for at least three years. Moreover, applicants must hold a university degree and be fluent in English and French, both in written and oral forms.

Founded in 1949, the College of Europe is a private education institution of renowned international prestige with a long-standing tradition in the study, analysis and discussion of European affairs. Every year, it welcomes more than four hundred postgraduate students at its campuses in Bruges (Belgium), Natolin (Poland) and also in Tirana (Albania), starting in September 2024.
