The Regional Directorate for Entrepreneurship and Competitiveness informs that applications are open until October 22 for companies and technology incubators from the Autonomous Region of the Azores to take part in the 2023 edition of the Web Summit, the world's largest technology conference.

This initiative aims to promote the internationalisation and export of regional companies operating in technological fields or sectors: computer programming activities; solutions based on the Internet of Things (IoT); computer game development; augmented reality; e-commerce solutions; industrial production process control and management software; machine-to-machine and human-to-machine technologies, and big data.

Individual entrepreneurs and companies, with head office or permanent establishment in the Autonomous Region of the Azores, can apply for the competition by filling in the online form available at https://empresas.azores.gov.pt.

The applications will be assessed by a jury that will take into account, among other things, the estimated impact of participation in Web Summit 2023 in terms of the internationalisation of companies, the export of services and their improvement.

The first 20 applicants will be awarded tickets for the Web Summit 2023 and a cash prize amounting to 500 Euros per participant to cover the costs incurred with their participation in the event.

For further information, those who are interested should consult the Government Council Resolution no. 159/2023 of October 9, which approves the rules for the participation of the Autonomous Region of the Azores in the Web Summit 2023. Alternatively, they may contact the Regional Directorate for Entrepreneurship and Competitiveness, the entity managing the application process, via telephone 296 309 100 or email at [email protected].
