Welcome to Lajes Civil Airport,

The Lajes Civil Airport - ACL - is an airport under the administration of the Regional Government of the Azores and is part of the Aeronautical Infrastructure of Air Base No. 4. It is certified for permanent use by Civil Aviation with the provision of the respective airport services.

First opened in 1976, the Lajes Civil Airport has undergone successive modifications to accommodate the growing passenger flow. In 2019, the number of passengers from regional, territorial and international flights exceeded 780,000.

The increase in cargo and mail transported through Lajes Civil Airport has led to the construction of a new Cargo Terminal, which should be opened in late 2020. This infrastructure will be capable of processing the two million kilograms of cargo and 600,000 kilograms of mail transported through Lajes Civil Terminal on an annual basis.
