The Regional Secretariat for Education and Cultural Affairs, through the Regional Directorate for Cultural Affairs and in partnership with the Regional Directorate for Tourism, presented the Azores Culture Logbook project on Wednesday afternoon at the Lisbon Travel Market (BTL).

At a session included in the Azorean programme this Wednesday, João Paulo Constância, director of the Carlos Machado Museum, and Diana Santos, Senior Technician at the Regional Directorate for Cultural Affairs, presented the Azores Culture Logbook. The project was launched in September 2023 to encourage visits to the Region's eight museums, the Corvo Ecomuseum and the Arquipélago- Contemporary Arts Centre, with a view to including cultural tourism in the tourism dynamics of the Azores destination, which is this year's national guest region at BTL.

Inspired by collecting, scrapbooking and sticker art, it consists of a travel journal focused on the 22 visitable spaces and associated collections belonging to the 10 museum services throughout the archipelago.

The goal is to provide a product for the personal recording of users' visiting experiences, while also offering them discounts on publications and services, as well as attendance prizes. The latter will be awarded according to the three levels of completion of the visiting itinerary for the network of cultural spaces in question.

The project intends to encourage the involvement of citizens as potential cultural consumers as well as to promote the discovery of the multiplicity of cultural aspects addressed in the different cultural spaces involved, emphasising the fact that these themes complement each other and contribute to a sense of cultural identity as a whole.
